Dr Justin Chua is a consultant nephrologist and general medicine physician who completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with First Class Honours at Monash University in 2011.
He undertook advanced training at Monash Medical Centre, the Alfred Hospital, Austin Hospital, Frankston Hospital, Northern Hospital and Cabrini Hospital, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in the dual specialties of Nephrology and General Medicine.
He currently holds public appointments at Monash Health and Latrobe Regional Health. He also provides care for patients admitted at Knox Private Hospital.
He is completing a PhD through Monash University and Monash Health and is the recipient of a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarship. His research focuses on clinical aspects of ANCA-associated vasculitis in Australia, which is a rare and serious disease which often affects the kidneys and other organs.
Dr Chua provides compassionate, holistic and respectful care of his patients. He listens to patient concerns and ensures they are informed about their medical condition and its treatment. He also places an importance on working with other healthcare providers, particularly the patient's general practitioner and other specialists, so that the treating team is kept updated to optimise the health of the patient.
He welcomes referrals related to all aspects of kidney care, which includes chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, proteinuria/microalbuminuria, glomerulonephritis, perioperative medicine, dialysis and kidney transplant management.
