Dr Alex Strathmore
Rheumatologist
Dr Alex Strathmore is a Melbourne‑trained rheumatologist who completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2018. He undertook Basic Physician Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he was awarded the Bryan Hudson Medal in 2022. His advanced rheumatology training spanned St Vincent’s Hospital, Austin Health, Northern Health and Western Health.
Dr Strathmore manages a broad range of rheumatological conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, gout, vasculitis and myositis. He is committed to holistic, patient‑centred care, with a strong focus on education and the role of lifestyle in improving disease outcomes.
He is passionate about medical education and holds a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys time with his young family and golden retriever, and pursues hiking, woodworking.
