Dr Nafiseh Abdollahi

Rheumatologist

Dr Nafiseh Abdollahi is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician with more than 15 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of complex autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal diseases.

She currently practices as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Western Health and Melbourne Rheumatology Group in Melbourne, Australia.

Prior to relocating to Australia, she served as Associate Professor of Rheumatology at Golestan University of Medical Sciences, where she combined clinical practice with academic leadership, teaching and research. She held senior academic positions and supervised numerous medical students, residents and research projects.

Dr Abdollahi achieved first rank nationally in the Rheumatology Board Examination and graduated within the top 5% of candidates in the Internal Medicine Board Examination. She completed her Australian specialist pathway through Western Health and Melbourne Rheumatology Group   and is recognised as a specialist in both Rheumatology and General Medicine.

Her work has been presented at major international meetings including EULAR, the Australian Rheumatology Association Scientific Meeting and the World Congress on Systemic Sclerosis.She was awarded the ARA–APLAR Scholarship and has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Her research interests focus on Behçet’s disease, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), vasculitis, and osteoporosis. She is a member of the Vasculitis Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR) and has contributed to clinical research and registry development in complex autoimmune diseases. She is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students through the University of Melbourne.

Dr Abdollahi is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate and personalised care, working collaboratively with patients and referring practitioners to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes.
